I believe the record Brown trout is still held by Governer Hamilton of Tasmania , Australia whose capture of a 38lb brown trout some 100 years ago, is still the world record for this fish species

I took the picture of Brian with this fish. Jorge estimated the 28 lbs; because it bottomed out the scale of 30 lbs ( 2 lbs for the net). I said BS the moment he said it. I have the measuring on videotape; and the biologists came up with the 41 lb estimate, based on their studies of hundreds of the local fish. If Jorge is still saying 28 lbs, then he is flat wrong. That was a HUGE fish and Brian is a superb fisherman, not just lucky.

Chris,

thanks for your thoughts and sentiments. The fish is certainly the fish of a lifetime and I, and I bet a bunch of us would crawl naked through broken glass to get a shot at such a wonderful fish.

THANKS!

Pat

40 pounds or not. only some of us dream about a catch like that. I've been fishing all my life and have seen some whoppers and caught a few myself, but nothing is as exciting as knowing how brian felt as he reeled in that big one. Good job sir, and I hope to join you one day in the catch of a life time.

Well, according to the scientist from the University of MT, it sure is a 40 pound fish, 40 pounds +. The fish bottomed out a 30 pound BOGA, and Jorge had nothing else to go by, so he gave his best estimation. Check out the science it doesn’t exaggerate... Pat

P.S. What's your name?
